As a new graduate, I currently have a good amount of free time, and there are many goals I want to pursue in both my career and personal interests. With so much I want to accomplish, it can be difficult to decide what to prioritize first, but I’m excited by the challenge and motivated to keep moving forward.
Some of the main things I want to accomplish include:
- Landing a cybersecurity job
- Volunteering at local cybersecurity events
- Continuing my studies and earning the CySA+ certification
- Installing a SIEM in my home lab
- Upgrading my network with a non-ISP router and modem, and finding a way to monitor all network activity through my home lab SIEM
- Moving Pi-hole and Unbound from my home lab to a standalone device on the network, possibly using a Raspberry Pi
- Beginning my studies for the BTL1 certification
- Relearning Python and building cybersecurity-related projects with it
- Learning HTML and CSS so I can code my website from scratch
I know this is a lot to take on at once, and I may be aiming high, but I’m not planning on slowing down. I want to make the most of this stage in my life by continuing to learn, build, and grow both personally and professionally.
